Buffalo Outs Firmware Version 2.20 for Its TeraStation WS5000 Series

Buffalo has outed the 2.20 firmware version that is targeted at its 4 TeraStation WS5000 network-attached storages, namely the WS5200D, WS5400R, WS5400D, and WS5600D NASes with Windows Storage Server 2012.

The newly released package fixes only one specific problem that the devices have been encountering since the previous firmware – the excessive memory usage from Buffalo’s monitoring service.

If you don’t have this problem, or the current version of your firmware is already 2.20, there is no need to download and install this package.

You can view your actual firmware by selecting the device from the NAS Navigator 2 search screen, and looking at the right bottom corner where the version should be displayed.

Though, if you just want to stay up to date, save the downloadable file on the local folder of the TeraStation, connect the NAS from the remote desktop, and open the executable file located within the archive.

Do not interrupt the upgrade process in any way, so that no damages are done to the device; just wait for the update to finish, and that’s all.

Now, to download the firmware, follow the link below, and from the list, select the one that best describes your Buffalo TeraStation.
