The Internet Is Back Up in Syria

Some 24 hours ago, Syria dropped off the Internet map, with all communication to and from the country cut off.

It isn’t the first time this happens in Syria, and it happened in Egypt as well. It's unfortunately becoming a standard response for tyrannical regimes in times of crisis.

But connectivity seems to be coming back up and, at this point, all links to the country are working as normal.

Renesys, which first noticed the issue, was the first to report that the Internet is back up. Others have confirmed this since. The outage lasted for 19.5 hours in total.

As for the cause, it may be a technical issue, there's a civil war going on in the country and things like Internet connections get damaged. More likely though, Internet access was cut off by the government for whatever reason, nothing good obviously.
